Cannibalism also reported by way of troops eating Pygmies. This is not surprising because Africans see any flesh as "meat" - be it monkey or human. Add a Python to the dish could make it a "Snake and Pygmy Pie" ..

This type of thing never surprises me. I spent time in parts of west africa during the 80's doing mission work. There is nothing worse than the lives these people have with no education and no working utilities in most cases. We helped build makeshift huts for groups of refugees. The worst part was that many of these people didn't seem to want anything better. Well I guess they may have wanted a better life but once they got comfortable in a camp receiving UN food they would all sit around all day being fat and happy and lazy. The ability to make something better of themselves seemed to be absent.

We had to cut our work short which was supposed to last 3 years because one of the women in our group went missing. After we got back to the states I found out she had been held prisoner in the back country but some hunters found her a couple weeks later. She survived but I've never heard what happened to her. I don't think I really want to know.
